What Keeps You Up At Night?
Fear, doubt and worry, at the very least rob you of energy. And for some of us, can paralyze us into indecision and inaction.
In my experience, if you let it, fear takes on a larger and larger look as time goes on.
It’s the use of your imagination in a negative way. And for most of us, we tend to go there first.
It’s 1:00am, raining, your teenager has your car. He was due home at 11:00pm, and there has been no message or phone call. Your imagination goes to ditches, police cars, ambulances, or worse. Your fear grows as the hours pass.
Fearful thoughts come to all of us. But the trick is to acknowledge them, then quickly move on to a picture of what you would love to happen. The most successful of us, simply do not give energy to their fear. They move on to positive thoughts, and they do it quickly.
After you take positive action, the fear and doubt begins to melt away. You feel more in control, and your confidence gets a boost. A second positive move and you build momentum.
If you wish to feel more and more alive, follow Eleanor Roosevelt’s advice when she says, “Do something that scares you every day.”
