Habits are a huge part of our lives. We tend to drive the same route to work every day. Eat lunch at the same deli. Watch the same TV shows. Or simply wasting time, is a habit for some. Habits are powerful!
That power can be good or not so good, depending on your habit. Going to the gym every day, doing some cardio for your heart, and some resistance work for your muscles and bones, is a good habit. While smoking a pack a day may not be so healthful.
One of my strongest habits is going to the same coffee establishment every day. And my friends tell me the coffee isn’t even that great! My car knows the way!
I invite you to make a list of your habits, and group those that serve you, and those that don’t. If you are having trouble with your list, ask a close friend to help.
They’ll tell you your habits rather easily!
Yes there is power in habit (both good and bad)
Are there habits you are proud of and wish to keep? Any you are not proud of, that you’d like to change?
You can recalibrate yourself. All you have to do is decide to.
After you decide, you will involve your will. By will, I mean the ability to give yourself a command, and then follow through with it. Now, you may benefit from someone who cares for you, to keep you accountable at the start.
Of those habits you’d like to change, pick the one that would make the biggest difference for you. Replace it with something worthwhile to you. Give it 30 days, then pick another habit you’d love to change, and repeat. Twelve new helpful habits
in a year can be life changing!
