Henry David Thoreau said “Most men (and women too) live their lives in quiet desperation, and go to their graves with a song still in them.”
Why is that? Why don’t more of us go for it?
Truth is, we live a fraction of our possibility. Some live 90 years, but most live 1 year, 90 times. The status quo is comfortable. We lean towards what we have known. We lean towards what we have thought before, and done before.
While we believe the reverse, the biggest gamble is living over and over again, what is familiar to us.
To take a new set of risks, it takes believing in yourself, and confidence you’ll succeed. It also takes tolerance of being uncomfortable, in the interest of growth.
Challenge yourself to stretch outside your comfort zone. Test your limits. Take a leap of faith. If you don’t you’ll never know what you are capable of. If you do you will surprise yourself, guaranteed!
To live your life to the fullest, it is simple, but not easy. If you could do it on your own, you would be living it now. Most of us need a friend, a coach, or a mentor, who cares enough to support you, challenge you. Someone who keeps you focused and accountable.
